This and that

Hey everyone! Quiet week on the makeup front here, my skins been as bad as ever so really have tried to avoid makeup as much as possible. The look below is as exciting as it got, although I must say a simple nude eye has been kind of nice to do for a change, it's saved me about an hour each morning not blending a million eyeshadows together. I believe here I'm wearing Indianwood Pro Longwear Paintpot and Malt eyeshadow, both by M.A.C.

Obsessed with the number 4 lashes as well, very natural, but still a little sumthin' sumthin'.

I did order some new Z Palettes from makeupgeek.com a few weeks ago, which I'm delighted with. I had my old one for about 5 years and believe me when I say, it was rank. I was going to take a picture of it to show you, but had to chuck it in the bin as soon as I was done transferring my shadows over.

I love Z Palettes, they're the handiest things ever. There's something incredibly therapeutic about depotting eyeshadows as well. Can't wait to fill up my second one up. I would have loved the lavender ones but they were out of stock, although these white covers have a nice clean cut feel to them.

How do you store your eyeshadows?

New Treats

Hi Everyone! A small haul sort of post for you today, my skin has got so awfully dry that there's no way I'd subject you to look at pictures of it, nevermind bringing myself to photograph it hahah. Gonna have a bath in Bepanthen tonight I think. Just wanted to show you a few things I've picked up recently, mainly to ask if any of you have tried these, as they're all new to me.

So I picked up my first Philosophy products this week, total impulse buys mind you, since they're very hard to find here in Finland. I love me a coconut scented shower gel and Philosophy's ones are a cult classic, so that was a no brainer. I fell in love with the Hands of Hope hand cream after the tester didn't sting my poor dermatitis ridden claws. The L'Occitane Repairing Shampoo came home with me after watching easyneon's hair care routine on YouTube although I don't actually think it's the same one she mentioned. I thought I was getting a sulphate free shampoo, but I picked up the silicone free one instead, but I guess it's alright? Haven't tried this yet, any thoughts on it?

I picked up some new lip pencils from M.A.C as its one part of my makeup collection that's a bit lacking in variety. I finally got my hands on the ultimate over lining shade, Stone, as well as two of the new colours, Edge to Edge (desinged to match Snob lipstick) and Heroine both of which I'm sure you'll be seeing plenty of on here in the coming months.

Chloe's new See By Chloe Si Belle EDP was most certainly a payday impulse treat as well, I hadn't even heard of such a scent before yesterday. It's one of those hate it or love it scents I think, kind of reminds me of Roberto Cavalli's aqua one, like if that and the original See By Chloe had a love child. Notes include neroli, birch leaf, gardenia, orange blossom and white musk if those mean anything to you haha.

I saved the best for last I think, how gorgeous is this Ripe Peach ombre blush from the M.A.C x Toledo collection? So divine, I can't bring myself to use it just yet hahah.

Have you tried any of these products? Feel free to share your thoughts here :)

It Was All Yellow

Hi Everyone! Hope your week is off to a good start. I'm obsessing over unusual and/or bright colours in the inner corner at the moment, so I decided to spruce up my Monday morning make-up with a pop of bright yellow. I paired it with a muted plummy smokey eye and some ridiculously big lashes as you do. I kept the brows, skin and lips very simple and natural. Really love how this turned out, though I'll admit, I was heavily influenced by a fab tutorial Karima did a few weeks ago, have a look yourself here

Guys, I'm having some serious dry skin issues at the moment, so any tips and/or product recommendations are welcome. I have these big dry areas where it feels like there's a build up of dead skin, but it's also very irritated whereby when I put anything on it, it stings. Pretty gross. Any peels I've tried don't seem to help much and my skin just sucks up any cream and seems to be left even drier than before. So if this sounds familiar to anyone please let me know!

Blue | Brown

Hi Everyone! I think I may just be getting the hang of this blogging malarkey, actually managed to snap a few photos of my make-up today before going to work. Feeling totally inspired right now, I think my outdated layout really killed my blogging mojo to be honest. Speaking of which, what do you guys think of the re-vamp? Yay or nay? Also please let me know what you think of the ginormous photos, are they too big? I just felt that since my blog is so picture-heavy, wouldn't hurt to make them huge hahah. Not sure about them myself though.

I was feeling the jewel tones today and you guys know I'm not a blue eyeshadow sorta gal, but boy am I obsessed with the Blue Brown pigment by M.A.C. Drool.

Safely Sable

If anyone out there is still reading this blog, hello, I'm back and I'm sorry I've been MIA this past few months. I think I'm finally ready to come out of my hibernation and feel like I have the energy again to start posting a few looks for you here and there.

I went for an ├╝ber safe, neutral look today to kick things off. Sometimes you just have to go for a look you know you will feel good in, as boring as it may seem. Absolutely loving these muted pinky-browns at the moment though.
