Updated Brow Routine

Hi guys! So I've been getting a lot of questions about my brows on Instagram, so I thought I'd show ya how I do them. It's so simple and straightforward, but I have started using new products, so why not share it.

I have always just used brow powder and/or eyeshadow to fill in my brows, so trying out all these new products has definitely been exciting and a bit of a learning curve. I'll show you how I use the Anastasia Brow Wiz combined with their Brow Powder Duo as it's my favourite way to do my brows right now. I don't think I've quite mastered the art of using the Dipbrow Pomade just yet, still very much experimenting with it, so I might do a post on that later.

So without further ado, here's a little before and after of my brows, so as you can see, the finished result is quite natural looking but still polished and defined, just the way I like them.

I have managed to grow my brows to a shape I'm happy with, so thankfully I don't have too much to correct par a few sparse areas. When it comes to grooming, I just tweeze and trim them. I really like the combination of the pencil and brow powder, as the powder can cling on to the waxy texture, whilst setting the pencil in place, so the two just marry together really nicely. I also like using both just on their own if I'm in a rush and set the hairs with the ABH Clear Brow Gel which I'm obsessed with.

So I first lay down the pencil, concentrating on sparse areas, the tail of the brow which I like to extend a little as well as map out the general shape. Some people don't like defining the top part of the brow, but everybody's different, I find it flattering on me. The shade I use is Ash Blonde, although Soft Brown I can get away with too.

I then go in with the Brow Powder Duo in the shade Medium Brown with the number 12 brush. Has any of you tried this brush? Oh my. I'm gonna have to order about a gazillion more of them, best angled brush I've ever tried. So I use the lighter side of the brow powder, and just fill in all the rest. I go heavier handed at the tail of the brow and get lighter and lighter as I near the front. Then I just take the spoolie at the other end of the brush and really buff the products in.

Then I finish off with a lick of the Clear Brow Gel, et voila!

Eeep, bare eye!

Oh and here's my new kitty cat MeiMei using my palettes as a fine viewing tower. I didn't even get mad that she squashed it hahah.

Hi Everyone! Seeing as everybody's whipping out their rich autumn lippies, I thought I'd join the party until I realised I own virtually no dark lip colours! I'm not a lips kinda girl anyway, I hate the feel of pretty much anything except balm on my lips. I play it very safe with my lip shades, always going for the same peachy/pinky/nude that goes with everything. So if you have any suggestions for nice wintery shades to help me get out of this lip rut I'm finding myself in, please let me know!

So as I was rummaging through my makeup bag for ideas of what kind of look to do today, I stumbled upon my old friend, Nars Mascate. The perfect matte, vampy red. It's been so long since I did a full on pin-up look, and I'm quite pleased with how this came out.

I probably should've scrubbed my lips a bit more before applying this, here you can see all my dryness in all it's glory, sorry about that. This picture was taken outside in natural light, and the colour is turning out way brighter and lighter than how it looks in real life.

I paired it with a super simple eye look, a thick-ish winged liner and lashes.

I used the shade Nude from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Maya Mia Palette all over the lid as a base and Warm Taupe to define the crease and the lower lashline too. I'm obsessed with Warm Taupe, it's literally become my favourite eyeshadow, I can't think of a look I won't be using it in to be honest. And it's a good job because apparently Mac are discontinuing my beloved Kid eyeshadow, if I didn't have Warm Taupe, I'd be crying myself to sleep at night.

Okay, back to this look, I popped Vanilla from the same palette into the tearduct for a pop. I highlighted my browbone with Pick Me Up from the Mac Cool Neutrals Palette and also popped a bit of Sweet Allure from the same palette, just in the middle of the moving lid with my finger.

The liner is Jet by ABH, which I'm still experimenting with. I find the formula a tad on the dry side, which can make it hard to get an even line with as it drags the skin a bit, but maybe I should just try a different brush with it. The staying power and pigmentation of that is amazing though. The lashes are by Kiss, I can't mind the name.

Brows are ABH Brow Wiz in Soft Brown, Brow Powder Duo in Medium Brown (lighter side) and their Clear Brow Gel.

Here's me trying to pose all seductively and what not.

Just gonna sit around the house now for the rest of this cloudy Sunday, watch some Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and chill the beans looking very fancy.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend

LOTD & Other Updates

Hi Everyone! I've had a blogger's week from hell, my laptop broke. Or rather I can't get internet working on it, I've tried everything, and I give up. Just wanna throw it out the window at this point. So I had a really lovely blue sandwich smokey eye look for you done, but the universe has plotted against me being able to get the pictures up, so apologies for the lack of posts this past week.

Today's look is super simple, I just wanted to slap Sienna from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Maya Mia Palette all over my eyes because I'm obsessed with it. It's a gorgeous, smooth, matte terracotta shade, and I wanted it to be the main focus of the eye look.

Apologies if the photos aren't as great a quality as before, I had to go out and get a lightning to SD connector for the iPad to get these photos up, and I think you lose something in the photos when you move them straight to IOS. Could just be my imagination though. It did kill me not to be able to bump up the contrast or anything, but these are completely untouched, true colours just in case you're interested ;)

I used Caramel from the Maya Mia palette really liberally in the general socket area and winged it right out past my outer corner. I layered Sienna over that and blended the two together. I also brought both down quite low on my lower lashline. Brow and inner corner highlight is Vanilla from the same palette (stepping out of my comfort zone with the frosty highlight there. Daredevil.) The mid-lid colour is Mary-Lou Manizer by theBalm packed on wet. I dabbed a tiny bit of Gold Bar on top with my finger.

Gosh White Kohl
Clinique High Impact Mascara
Ardell Wispies
Anastasia Brow Powder Taupe
Anastasia Brow Wiz Ash Blonde
Anastasia Clear Brow Gel

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation
Mac Pro Longwear Concealer
Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder
Anastasia Contour Kit (Banana, Fawn)
theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer
Clarins Blush Prodige 05 Rose Wood

Oh and I got ma hurr did. Figured it was time to give the bleach a bit of a rest and embrace my natural tones. I've no doubt I'll be back to it at some point, but I think it's nice to change it up a bit.

Soft Cut Crease & Ombre Glitter Liner

Hey Everyone! I honestly didn't know what to call this look, there is a possibility I may have gone for too many components. I was so excited to get a proper play-around with my brand spanking new Maya Mia Palette thanks to Anastasia Beverly Hills, that I went a bit kray with the details. I saw Chloe Morello do a really cool winged liner look on her YouTube channel recently using Make-Up Store Showstopper Glitter Liner so I'd been dying to use mine, attempting to crate an ombré liner, going from that really sparkly gunmetal to plain matte black in the wing.

I've also been stalking Erika's Instagram (@havsvind) a lot recently and wanted to do something striking on the lower lashline like she does a lot. Unfortunately this is really challenging what with my wrinkly under eyes, but think I just about got away with it. Definitely check out her page if you're looking for some serious eye make-up inspo.

I started out by wanting just a bit of definition in my socket line, but I guess I got a bit carried away with my gorgeous new Maya Mia Palette and ended up with this dramatic yet neutral look.

I used Vanilla from their Contour Kit all over as a base, then worked Warm Taupe (probably my favourite shade in the palette), Caramel, Deep Brown and Nude into the crease and under the lower lashes. I popped Vanilla from the palette into the brow bone and inner corners and intensified that with a tiny bit of my theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer

I used Jet Cream Liner, also by Anastasia, as my liner and on the lower and upper waterlines. The glitter liner is Showstopper by the Makeup Store as I already mentioned, and the lashes are my favourite Wispies by Ardell

On my brows I'm wearing a cocktail of Dipbrow Pomade in Taupe, Brow Powder also in Taupe and their Clear Brow Gel just to set the front. I seriously feel like I'm never ever gonna have a bad brow day again, there is a reason these products are so hyped up. They're the bomb

I didn't do a tutorial for this look because you guys have seen everybody and their mother do a cut crease look, I have shown all the techniques I used in this in previous posts.

On the rest of my face I'm wearing Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation, Mac Pro Longwear Concealer, Anastasia Contour Kit (Fawn, Vanilla), Mac Well Dressed Blush, theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer and on my lips I have a dot of Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Posy Pink.

I may have gone in a little heavy handed on the nose contour, but whatever.

Top and necklace (obsessed) both from H&M.

What do you guys think?
