Muted Green & Plum Smokey Eyes

Hi Everyone! I wanted to do a smokey look veering slightly away from the neutrals I always gravitate towards. This is a nice way to wear colour without it being too in-your-face. These colours would look absolutely stunning on hazel or brown eyes, they don't do much for me, but I still really like the way it turned out. The gold stud is optional ;)
I primed my lids with my trusted Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden.
Taking Club by Mac on my Crown C124 Firm Shader brush, I packed it on all over the moving lid. Using my C200 Blending a Brush, also by Crown, and a tiny bit more of Club, I buffed this into the socket. The more you blend out Club, the more of that warm brown duochrome shows up, so this works perfectly as my base and transition colour.
Next, to deepen the outer half of the lid and crease, I took Sketch, also by Mac, on a stiff blending brush. These two shades work beautifully together, you can't even tell where one ends and the other begins. Layering the two gives a lovely depth and dimension to the look.
To define the outer V further, I applied a little bit of Blackberry by Mac on a Crown Bullet Brush. Between all these steps I went back in with my blending brush and buffed out any harsh edges. Also with all that blending, I lost some of the intensity of the green pearl in Club, so I just went back in and packed some more where I needed it. Then blended.
For a nice, subtle matte brow highlight and to help blend out the Club colour further, I used Vanilla from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit. I also popped a bit of this on the inner part of my eye where I get really dark, just to brighten that area up.
To really make the colours pop, I foiled a little bit of Money from the Urban Decay Mariposa Palette on a Real Techniques Accent Brush right in the inner corner, blending into Club. The photos don't do justice to how cool it looked in real life. Just take my word for it! ;)
I did a pretty dramatic winged liner using my L'Oréal Superliner Gel Intenza
I took that liner in the upper and lower waterlines also, smudging it out with some more Blackberry in the outer half and adding a pop of gold in the inner half. I used Limelight from the same Mariposa Palette.
To finish the look off I applied a generous coat of Clinique High Impact Mascara and filled in my brows using the Catrice Brow Set. I popped a little gold stud in the outer corner for no particular reason. I think the original idea was to place it in the wing of the eyeliner, but I couldn't get my wing big enough to accommodate it. The lashes are Ardell Wispies, love them.

Matte Smokey Eyes Tutorial

Hi Everyone! So I was dying to get playing with my new Contour Kit by Anastasia, and decided to go for this totally matte smoked out eye. Really felt like honing my blending skills a bit and what better way to do that than blend loads of matte tones together? I'm really happy with how this came out, it's quite simple in that there's not a gazillion shades needed, but it was time consuming, my hand was getting a bit numb by the time I had all the blending done hahah. Hope you enjoy it!

I began as always, by priming my lids with Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden.
I did a light wash of Vanilla from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit. This was just to take away the stickiness of the primer, so that the matte shades I knew I'd be using would blend out smoothly. Any flesh tone matte shade would work for this step.
Next to start defining my socket, I took the shade Java from the same palette on a Crown C200 Deluxe Crease brush. I built this up little by little, leaving the browbone free of colour.
I packed Handwritten, one of my all time favourite neutral deep browns, by Mac, on a Crown C124 Firm Shadow brush all over the moving lid. I used the blending brush from the last step to blend it into Java.
Next I lined my upper lashline with L'Oréal Super Liner Gel Intenza (check out my review here) on a Real Techniques Fine Liner brush. I just did a thick winged shape and immediately began to smudge it out. Once I had the edges of it softened out, I went in with a Crown bullet brush that I don't know the name of, and Crave from the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette (dying to get my paws on the new one!) . I used this blackened dark brown to smudge the line even further and blend it into Handwritten. I left the wing kind of sharp. This style of smokey eye would suit hooded or mono eyes really well.
I applied a generous coat of Clinique High Impact Mascara.
Ugh I love these little fellas. Ardell Wispies.
Going back in to Java and my very much-loved Handwritten, I ran both all the way under the lower lashes and blended down quite far. Seriously need to get a new one! Also popped some of the same mascara down there.
Sticking with the matte theme, I resisted the temptation for a frosty inner corner highlight, and went with my trusted Blanc Type by Mac instead. And that's the look done! Simples!
This photo was taken outside. What a difference!

Bangerhead Mini Haul | Anastasia, Ardell, theBalm & Argan Secret

Hello Everyone! So I decided to treat myself a bit and I'm so excited about the goodies I found that I just had to share it with you guys. It all started when I went online looking for Ardell Lashes, the Whispies in particular. In case any of you are wondering, they're quite hard to come by here in Finland, as are most of my favourite makeup brands. So when I stumbled upon Bangerhead.com, a Swedish cosmetics site, selling them as well as Anastasia Beverly Hills and theBalm, my shopping cart got filled unnaturally fast. I'm definitely a bit late on the bandwagon for some of these products, so apologies if this post bores you to death, but it was like Christmas come early for me when I got my package in the post, so bare with me!
Let's start with theBalm goodies! How adorable is their packaging?
Hot Mama
This blush was taken out and put back in to my shopping cart a few times before I decided that I did really want it. The main reason I got it was because I'm afraid I'm going to hit pan on yet another Coralista by Benefit and it's so darn expensive! So I've been on the hunt for a dupe and this looked like it would be in the same colour family. I was right enough, but it's like Coralista on steroids. More dramatic, more shiny, more peachy and more gold. On the cheeks it doesn't come out as well as the swatch, but it does add a beautiful glow and I'm more than happy with it. It's actually very much like Expensive Pink eyeshadow by Mac
theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer
I don't think I need to go into too much detail about this little beauty, do I? I must admit, I expected it to be a lot lighter in colour, but I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't. I think I'll get a lot of use out of this as it doubles up as an eyeshadow, a perfect inner corner highlight.
Reunited with my favourite lashes ever! Absolutely cannot wait to get looks done with these!
They also sold my beloved Argan Secret Miracle 10 which I raved about in my Haircare Routine post.
And last but not least, the product I was probably the most excited about, the infamous Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit. I really wanted to try out some of their brow products, but the shade selection on the site was very limited, they didn't offer any of the taupe shades in the Browiz or the Dipbrow Pomades. Anyway, these are super pigmented, buttery goodness. I was a bit afraid the contour shades would be too orangey for me, but the shades Java and Fawn (bottom left & centre) work perfectly and I can use Havana as a bronzer.
Same goes for the top row, I can set any highlights with the two matte shades to the left and I always have use for a shimmery one. The fantastic thing about these as well is that they totally work as eyeshadows, so it's an overall incredibly versatile little palette. I might do a full on review once I've played around with it a bit more and really test out the wear time etc.
Swatches from Left to Right; Hot Mama, Mary-Lou Manizer, Java, Fawn, Havana, Sand, Banana and Vanilla.

Seriously cannot wait to get some cool looks done for you guys with these, I've tonnes of ideas ready to go. Have you tried any of these? Thoughts? Any more Coralista dupes for me? :P
