Bouncy Waves Tutorial

Hi Everyone! I've been having a mad busy week and posting as once again taken a back seat. Im currently suffering with a head cold (thanks to enjoying the recent nice weather a bit too much) and didn't feel like putting make-up on my slightly burnt face, never mind taking pictures of it :) So this is a wee hair tut I put together a while back, its fairly simple, I'm sure some of you already know how to do this, but its something that I always compliments on and its my current fave thing to do with my hair. Sorry the pics are a bit gammy, I had no-one to help me and I'll tell ya, its not as easy as you'd think to take a decent pic of the back of your head :) Enjoy! So I washed my hair, (this will work just as well on second day hair, if not better) and to help me detangle it and keep it in good condition AND as a heat protectant, I used Argan Secret Miracle 10 Treatment Spray. I use the Denman tangle-teaser to sort through my locks.

Excuse my face here, it was really bright out :) I blast dried my hair, and brushed it through. Nothing fancy. I also sectioned it like so, making a side parting and pushing the rest back.

I used Babyliss Pro Curling Iron (its the f170 i think) and took large sections of hair and curled away from the face. I held the iron in place for about 10 seconds and then gently let the section go, and pinned it back up with curling clip. You can use a hair grip but I find these boys hold heavier sections up better. This is the secret to longer lasting curls, to allow them to set and cool while pinned up. Its also handy, because you can do your make-up while the hair is cooling and pretend to be a 1940's pin-up :)

Here you can see I'm just working up the hair in sections and clipping in place. Simples!

Here you can see what the back of the head looks like once its up.

for a a little retro twist, curl the hair on the side of the parting that has less hair inwards. I usually turn it away from the face, but this looks nice too.

Here is all the hair pinned in place, and as you can see, the hair on the other side of the parting has been curled away from the face.

Once the hair is cool, gently take the clips off, and your curls will come out looking something like this, aka goldie-locks style.
The Solution: Serum. Brush out your curls gently and rub some serum onto your hands and pull through the hair. I used Alfaparf Semi Di Lino Cristalli Liquid, available from all Alfaparf salons. Now its up to you what you wish to do with it, pin bits back, leave it as it is, do a little goddess braid, whatever. This style lasts me approximately 3 days, the first day as show below, second day looser waves (my fave) and on the third day I like to put it up in a ponytail, as the curls look lovely cascading down. Also feel free to spray it, if your hair doesn't take to curls very well. I'd recommend something light that still allows your hair to move and not freeze it in place or make it feel sticky. I hope I explained this ok, let me know if you decide to try this out! Much Love xx

If I lived in the Capitol....

...I would probably look a little something like this. With full body-buffing and permanent skin tinting, you could walk around looking like an alien and no-one would bat an eyelash. March 23rd, cannot wait! :) A little disappointed to hear that this isn't going to be as gory as the books :/ Where's the fun in that?

Julieg713 Inspired Naked2 Eyes

Hi Everyone! My lovely friend Sara got me the Naked2 Palette as an early birthday present (she said she couldn't have it around the house any longer, temping her haha). I saw Julie's tutorial a while back and decided to recreate it coz it was super pretty. I was concerned about wether it would suit my blue eyes but I'm really pleased with the finished result! I'll be wearing this for a mad night out tonight to celebrate Paddy's Day! (NOT "Patty's"!!!) To see the original vid, go here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-QPlwK2Aj8, sorry, can someone tell me how to put a link up please? Well, hope you like!

I began by applying uDPP in Eden all over lid. I wasnt sure what the fallout would be like with these shadows so I left my skin for later in case.

On a flat shader brush I took the colour Busted and patted this on the outer half of the lid and blended the egdes with a clean blending brush. Busted is what I wanted Hustle from the first palette to be.

Next, on a blending brush I used Tease (love it) as the crease colour and buffed it out really well.

On a flat shader brush I took YDK a gorgeous shimmer and applied it in the inner half of the lid. Make sure to tap your brush off well, this falls like crazy, but it gives a beautiful effect.

On a short shader I used foxy as a brow highlight. On the same brush I took Blackout and smudged it along the lashes (no liner in this look).

I ran Avon SuperShock Gel Liner on the waterline and with an angled brush smudged it along the lower lashes. I also took some more Busted and blended under the lashes.

Avon Super Enchant Mascara.

At this point I cleaned up under my eyes and applied my base, concealer and powder and also filled in my brows with the Gosh Brow Kit.

Ardell Demi 120 lashes et voila!

On my cheeks I wore YSL Blush radiance 01 and on my lips I went for OCC Lip Tar in Hush.

Phineas and ferb Series: Perry the Platypus

Hi Everyone! So this is the last look in this little series, and I figured I'd go all out :) I didn't make a tutorial of this, as its not something anyone's likely to recreate but I hope you like it. Perry is by far my favourite character in the show, he's just class. Below you can see him as Agent P and then as regular Perry whom the boys got as a pet because it looks like he's looking at them both at the same time. How cute! I had a hard time finding the perfect "Perry" colour, and Vanessa's Paradise looked promising in the pan, but unfortunately it turned a fairly regular blue on skin :/ I channelled the brown fedora hat in the contouring and his orange beak in the coral lips. I wanted to make the eyes look quite "bird-ish" if that makes sense, though I know he's not a bird, he's a platypus. Lol.
