Winter Wardrobe Wishlist

I dont know about you but winter clothes are my favourit to shop for :) So as I was checking out the talent on ASOS.com here's my favourites. Enjoy!
How cute is this jumper? Gorgeous with dark navy jeans.

This little dress would be perfect for work for me, with leggings and boots.

I LOVE this jumper, I just dont know if it would suit my fuller shape.

Cute pumps, something different, probably not convenient for work though, colour stains on these wouldnt look too pretty.

If I end up getting nothing else, I definitely will get this bag, how cute!

The "No Make-Up" Make-Up

Hello girls! What Im showing you today may either bore you to death or you might find this interesting, I dont know. For someone like me, whose worn a full face of make u to school since the Junior Cert (15 years old or thereabouts) I never thought that Id ever want to not wear make-up. But with age and working and being tired in the mornings, I find that doing the bare minimum on a daily basis is becoming more and more attractive. I have also been watching Lisa Eldridge's videos on youtube and become quite obsessed with make-up that doesnt look like make-up. I havent totally mastered it yet, mostly due to a lack of dream products, but this is how I do it. A prime example of no make-up make-up is the beautiful Anna Paquin who plays Sookie Stackhouse in True Blood (love love love, season 4 best yet). Make sure to check out my before and after photo at the end of the post to see what a difference even a little bit of make-up does to your face.

I started off by buffing in Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation #51 with a duofibre stipplig brush, in super light layers, concentrating more on the areas that needed more coverage (for me, the nose, my cheek on the right hand side & around the mouth). To achieve the most natural look, use a dewy finish foundation and really work in into the skin so that it becomes part of your skin, rather than just sitting on top of it. I also used Mac Studio Finish Concealer NW20 on any blemishes and dark circles, however if you have the YSL Touche Eclat or anything like it, use that for under eyes (I need to go make-up shopping).

If you have nice brows, do not touch them. Maybe just brush through with a spoolie or some brow gel. As you all n=know, I kinda need to do something with mine, so I used the tiniest bit of Naked from the Urban Decay Naked palette just on the outer ends of the brows, where its really needed. At this stage I also applied a tootsy bit of Urban Decay Primer Potion to the lid.

All the eyeshadows in this look need to be matte, otherwise it will look like eyeshadow. For an all over lid colour I used my clearly much loved and broken Benefit Low Profile eyeshadow from lashline to under the eyebrow with a big fluffy brush. This colour is discontinued i believe so an alernative if youre the same colouring as me would be Brulee by Mac, or if youre a little bit darker, something like Wedge would work.

Taking Blanc Type from mac, I applied this lightly under the brow and in the inner corner to add light and life to my eyes without looking obvious.

This step isnt necessary, if you think your eyes are looking good as it is, skip this step, but because I have a lot of lid space but not the biggest eyes, find that softly shading the crease helps break up an unnaturally monotonous lid as well as give definition to smallish eyes. Be careful here, I think I may even have applied a little too much, you dont want this to look like eyeshadow at all, use a very light hand and blend blend blend. Didnt think there was so much work involved just to look like you have nothing on did ya! :D

To add little bit more subtle definition to the eyes and to make the lashes appear thicker, I took again, a tiny bit, of Print by Mac on a Crown angled brush and just pressed it as close to the lashes as possible and when you have barely anything left on the brush, just run that along the lower lashes too.

I tightlined my upper lashline with Metallic Brass pencil from GOSH and curled my eyelashes (if you have lovely thick dark lashes dont bother with mascara, but make sure you still curl them) and applied Avon Spectra Lash Mascara in Brown/Black. I didnt want to go for a black mascara because it would look like im wearing mascara and we dont want that :)

On the cheeks I used Benefit High Beam on top of the cheekbones and down the nose, and Urban Decay Afterglow Glide on Cheek Tint in Quickie. To add a little colour to the lips I used Rimmel Eastend Snob Pencil and Rimmel Vinyl Gloss in Take a Chance.

Before and After!

What do you think? Is there any point going through so much bother just to look like you have nothing on? Love xxx

Colourful Arabic - Inspired Eyes

Hi Everyone, here's an arabic-style, very dramatic look, quite un-wearable, but if you're very bored, give it a try! :) All colours are interchangeable, you can use whatever colours you want. I havent used a tape in so long, it look me a good 5 minutes to even figure out where to put it and everything :) Ok lets go!

I primed my lid using Urban Decay Primer potion in Eden, the concealer-like one, because I wanted a super even base. I didnt do my foundation until later, because I was expecting fallout. I also placed the tape going from the outer corner of the eye up towards the eyebrow, just make sure both eyes are even.

I took this matte aqua colour with a small shader brush and applied it to he inner half of the eye lid, leaving the inner corner free.

I then flipped the same brush over and took this poison green (matte again) and applied that to the outer half of the lid, and blended the blue and green together. If you have a blue and green base on top of the primer potion, like an eyeliner pencil of cream shadow, I would recommend doing that first, as these shadows arent the best quality, but unfortunately I dont own a green or a blue base so I worked with what I had.

Using a domed crease brush and Creep from the Urban Decay Naked palette, I placed this on the very outest corner and sharply into the crease.

Blend the top line of the crease lightly and remove the tape gently.

Taking a magenta pink with a short shader brush, I applied that so that it peeked out on top of the black crease colour.

I used Blanc Type from Mac as a brow highlight but forgot to take a picture of it, and with the same short stubby brush I applied Half Baked from the Naked palette on the lower lashline.

I wanted a dramatic highlight colour for the inner corner and under the brow bone, so I used the frosty white from the Bed Head Drama Queen quad. I also used Urban Decay pencil eyeliner in Zero(black) on the lower and upper water line.

For my brows I used Stila eyeshadow in Nanda Devi (a cool medium brown) with an angled brush. I wanted super dramatic in-your-face power brows.

Dramatic winged liquid liner on top, this is Rimmel Glam'eyes Liner in Black.

Add mascara and eyelashes et voila!

For lips, I used the Rimmel Exaggerate lipliner in Eastend Snob (going way above my natural lipline, I wanted lips that would put Pamela Anderson to shame.) And I used Bourjois 3D Lipgloss in Brun, a frosty browny nude. I realise that I have been spelling Bourjois wrong for about a year now... Fantastic.

For my skin, I used the Maybelline New York 24hr foundation, Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer, Mac Studio Finish Concealer, Rimmel Pressed Powder, Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer to contour and Mac Creme Colour Base in Shell to highlight. I didnt do any blush as the eyes and lips are OTT anyway. I hope you enjoyed this, and everyone have a great weekend!
