FOTD: Inner Audrey

Hello Ladies, just a quick post today, I wanted to share my make-up look that I did and am quite pleased with, but that is too simple to bother with a tutorial. I was inspired to channel my inner Audrey Hepburn and this is the result. Oh how I wish I'd been blessed with her saucer eyes and deep sockets, but not to worry, thats what make-up is for... sort of...

Quickie Review: Rimmel 'Vintage Pink' Lipstick

Can I apologise for the quality of the photos in this post, I dont know why my camera wont focus properly, so the pics are all blurry... Anywhoo, so this post is about my most recent addition to my lipstick collection and food for my obsession with mauvey pinks. Its a very autumny colour, so come September this will probably be my daily lip colour, but seeing as its still summer (or so I've been told) its probably not the most exciting colour.

I love the creamy texture of this lipstick, its my favourite. I dont mind matte colours but my lips are bone dry most of the time anyway, matte colours tend to not help that very much. I hate shimmery lipsticks. Full stop. And I dont know why, but I absolutely ADORE mauve tones in pink lip colours (think Mac 'Snob' and Benefit 'Shy')

The only thing I dont like about this product is the scent, its a rather strong chemically/lipsticky scent, if you know what I mean :) Im sorry this was such a short and rather pointless post, but my camera pissed me off and I lost all enthusiasm. Love xxx

Bronze Smokey Eyes a la Lisa Cannon

I promised ages ago that I would recreate the make-up that I did for Lisa back in April, and here it is finally! Hope you enjoy it!

As usual, I applied my urban Decay Primer Potion and I filled my brows in with Stila Nanda Devi eyeshadow (matte cool dark brown)

I applied Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow in Birthday Suit all over the moving lid, up to the crease.

Again back to my Naked palette, I took Sidecar and placed it on the inner hald of the lid. Expect some glittery fallout with this colour.

I took Smog to the outer half of the lid and blended the two together and used Naked as a crease/transition colour.

I applied Print by Mac softly in the very outer corner in a V-shape. I also took this onto the lower lashline along with some more Sidecar.

I applied my usual highlight colour, Blanc Type, to the browbone and inner corner. I used my favourite liquid liner, Rimmel GlamEyes Liner in a slight wing on the top lashline and the mascara I used is Bourjoix curling mascara.

I also applied a gel liner to the lower and uper waterlines and the lashes are Ardell Demi 102, although on Lisa I think I used the Girls Aloud Kimberly lashes..?

Rest of face:
Bourjoix Healthy Mix Foundation
Mac Studio Finish Concealer NW20
Gosh Bronzer
Mac Cream Colour Base in Shell
urban Decay Glide on Cheek Tint in Quickie (love)

Lisa had her own lip colour and I cant remember what it was to save my life, so I used Gosh Lipgloss in a soft coral, sorry I dont have a name for it!

Hope everyones doing well, let me know what you think of the look! xxx

Foundation Review: Maybelline 24 H Superstay

Hello Ladies, Im back..! I am so sorry for being so neglectful towards my blog, I've just been hectically busy this month. I didnt know what to post about so I thought I'd talk about a foudation that I've recently purchased and I quite like it. It's Maybelline's 24H Superstay foundation which i got last week in the colour Cocoa purely because I needed a deep toned foundation and in the little pharmacies where I live, choice isnt that great. I ended up going back 2 days later for a coupe more colours, I liked the feel of the product so much.

Let's start with the packaging. I love that its in a glass bottle but the white plastic pump cheapens the packaging. At least there IS a pump, but because its white, it gets dirty in no time at all.

As you can see, it claims to be heat, humidity and sweat resistant, non rubby-offy and all that good stuff. Normally those qualities would put me off a product because I'd presume that it would have a cakey finish but this isnt like that at all. Yes it does have a matte finish but I think it still has a slight sheen (I could be imagining that). This foundation has lasted me through sweat and drizzly rain, it doesnt cake and Im just very impressed with it.

Colours L-R: 070 Cocoa, 048 Sun Beige and 010 Ivory

Without make-up! Eeek!

And with! I would describe this as medium to full coverage, depending on method of application, eg. full coverage when applied with a foudation brush, mediumwhen applied with fingers or stippling brush. I used a stippling brush.
